The UK Government's trade ministers and advisors have been given a clear mandate by Prime Minister May; reach out to the rest of the world and maximise trading relationships with major economies like India.
It is simply not acceptable that the UK exports more to Belgium than India. Yes, it will be harder to trade with an economy that is thousands of miles away rather than Belgium which is on the door step. However, with the increased business liberalisation we are seeing in India the time is now for the UK to maximise its trade with India and other emerging countries.
